Blake Shelton, Lionel Richie added to summer concert series

Recording artist and television personality Blake Shelton will appear at Lake Tahoe on Friday, July 12.

Now there are nine. Blake Shelton and Lionel Richie were added to Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series on Monday.

Shelton, a country recording artist and judge on the singing competition television program “The Voice,” will appear Friday, July 12, at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys. The concert will be held after the opening round of the 30th annual American Century Championship, which is played across the street at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. Ticket prices range from $99.50 to $255.50 and sales begin at 10 a.m. Friday, March 29.

It is the fourth show in the series headlined by a country artist. Six days after Shelton performs, his ex-wife Miranda Lambert will take the stage. Ticketmaster presales begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The codeword is “PARTY.” http://bit.ly/2TUvvAg

Lionel Richie says “Hello” to Lake Tahoe on Saturday, August 17.

A soul and pop singer, Richie will appear at Harveys on Saturday, Aug. 17. A four-time Grammy Award recipient, Richie will have a Hello tour this summer, named for his 1984 hit song. He started recording in 1968 as a member of the Commodores. His solo career began in 1982.

Ticket prices range from $69.50 to $149.to and go they go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 29.

Previously, Harveys announced seven other concerts for the popular summer series: country star Tim McGraw on Friday, June 14; a cappela stars Pentatonix with Rachel Platten on Sunday, July 7; country singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert on Thursday, July 18; Jackson Browne on Saturday, Aug. 10; The Steve Miller Band with Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives on Saturday, Aug. 24; country music’s Luke Bryan on Sunday, Aug. 25; and the Dave Matthews Band on Friday, Sept. 6.

The modern-day Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series started in 2002, after Harveys and Harrah’s Lake Tahoe merged. In 2018, a record 18 shows were held.

Off stage, Shelton has teamed up with Ryman Hospitality to open a string of Ole Red entertainment restaurant venues, a nod to his 2001 hit of the same name. The first location in his hometown of Tishomingo, OK opened in September 2017, while the space on Nashville’s lower Broadway hosted a week-long grand opening in June of 2018. Locations in Gatlinburg, TN and Orlando, FL are due to follow.
