Jah Sun is a distinguished reggae artist whose message of hope has captivated audiences worldwide. Drawing inspiration from an eclectic mix of musical styles, Jah Sun aspires to awaken in his audience the desire to meet the challenges of life and to live to their ultimate potential.
Imagine heavy basslines, one drops, psychedelic guitar riffs, echoing keyboards, popping percussion and conscious lyrics.
Now imagine roots reggae, imagine dub, rock…Put them all together and you get a new breed of Jamaican music called DubTonic Kru.
Like their style of music, Dubtonic is a mixture of the two words “Dub,” relating to the heavy drum and bass aspect of reggae music, and “Tonic,” referring to medicine. The eclectic blend of music and musicians are certainly medicine to one’s soul, and after listening, you simply just want more of this tonic.
Born in the UK and raised in Italy, Lion D is a rising star in the European reggae scene. His remarkable melodies and his conscious lyrics are captivating sound systems, radio DJ’s and producers all over Europe and also in the USA.
‘Heartical Soul’ is the new upcoming album that Lion D recorded in 2014 at the Shengen Studio in Jamaica produced by the international reggae artist Alborosie.
“Heartical Luv” is the first single and video.
If there’s an artist that is slowly but surely getting attention by the international scene, surely that would be Raphael. Born in Savona from Nigerian father and Italian mother, he starts his musical path still as a teenager, by setting up the Eazy Skankers reggae band in 2002.Trough the years the ensemble collects important appearances on festivals like Rototom Sunsplash and Arezzo Wave, hundreds of live shows and two totally self-produced albums : “To the Foundation” recorded in 2008 in Kingston, Jamaica, at the legendary Tuff Gong Studio and “Changes” (2011) recorded and mixed by Madaski, leader and producer of the veteran Italian band Africa Unite. And with its front man, Bunna, Raphael shares the “Double Trouble” project since 2010, a tribute to Bob Marley with the songwriter Zibba’s guitar as the only instrument, which would lead the trio to step on many clubs and festivals stages all over Italy.
