Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers
June 2 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pmtba
Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers are reeling in the years and taking it to the streets, playing at the Grand Sierra Resort on Saturday, June 2, as part of The Summer of Living Dangerously tour. This is Steely Dan’s first major tour since the death of co-founder Walter Becker in 2017.
Formed in 1972 by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, Steely Dan combined elements of jazz, rock and R&B with cryptic lyrics and intricate harmonies to create a unique, pioneering sound. Hit singles like “Do It Again,” “Reeling in the Years” and “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number” brought their complex music to the masses and won them legions of die-hard fans. Steely Dan have sold more than 40 million albums worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
The Doobie Brothers music has moved with the times, evolving from a chilled-out West Coast boogie band into a slick, soulful pop band with four Grammy Awards and more than 48 million record sales worldwide. The band’s sweet three-part harmonies and blend of rock, pop and blue-eyed soul can be heard in anthemic hit singles like “Listen to the Music,” “Black Water” and “China Grove.”
