Just announced: Pentatonix, Rachel Platten play Tahoe July 7


Three-time Grammy winners Pentatonix will play at Lake Tahoe’s Harveys Outdoor Arena on July 7.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, July 7. Three-time Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum-selling Pentatonix is bringing its a cappella world tour to the summer concert series at Lake Tahoe’s Harveys Outdoor Arena with special guest Rachel Platten.

Harveys announced the show Thursday morning. It’s the third confirmed show for the popular concert series, as country music’s Luke Bryant plays Tahoe on Sunday, Aug. 25, and the Dave Matthews Band makes a return appearance on Friday, Sept. 6. Tickets for Pentatonix go on sale Friday, Feb 15. Ticket prices range from $49.50 to $99.50.

Pentatonix has sold nearly 10 million albums worldwide and performed for hundreds of thousands of fans at sold-out shows across the globe. The band’s YouTube channel boasts more than 14.5 million subscribers, yielding more than 3 billion video views. Its 2015 self-titled album is certified gold after debuting No. 1 on Billboard’s 200.

Additionally, nine of its albums reached the top 10 on Billboard’s 200 chart (two at No. 1) and received multiple RIAA certifications for multi-platinum, platinum and gold selling albums and singles. The group has had two holiday specials on NBC, released their tour documentary — “On My Way Home” — in 2015 and appeared in the feature film, “Pitch Perfect 2.”

Pentatonix received Grammy Awards for an a cappella arrangement of “Daft Punk,” one for an a cappella arrangement of “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” and one for Best Country Duo/Group Performance of “Jolene” with Dolly Parton.

Describing themselves as “choir nerds,” the Los Angeles based muscians deliver pop, electronic, hip-hop and R&B. Its members include Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying, Kirstin Maldonado and Kevin “K.O.” Olusola.

The concert opener, Rachel Platten, is best known for her hit “Fight Song.” She has collected an Emmy Award and is a multi-platinum selling recording artist. Her debut album, “Wildfire,” included the Billboard Hot 100 hit, “Stand By You.”
