August at Lake Tahoe ended in crazy fashion on Friday when The Scorpions and Queensrÿche’ brought their Crazy World tour to Harveys Outdoor Arena.

Founded in Hannover, West Germany in 1965, Scorpions were part of the first wave of metal in the 1970s with their debut album, “Lonesome Crow,” released in 1972. The band rose to arena status with seminal releases “Lovedrive,” “Virgin Killer” and “Animal Magnetism.”

In the 1980s, Scorpions amassed a string of Billboard chart toppers from “Love at First Sting” and “Blackout,” including multiple Top 10 singles “Rock You Like a Hurricane” and “No One Like You,” as well a string of successful singles such as “Send Me an Angel,” “Still Loving You” and “Wind of Change.”

Celebrated across the globe, the iconic rock act has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, and has received multiple honors, including a World Music Award, a postage stamp in Brazil and a star on Hollywood Rock Walk.

In February 2015, Scorpions released their 19th studio album, “Return To Forever,” the same year the band celebrated their 50th anniversary.

Queensrÿche recently released its second album with new singer Todd La Torre, “Condition Human.” Michael Wilton (guitar), Eddie Jackson (bass) and Scott Rockenfield (drums) have been with the Seattle band since it formed in 1982. There have been four others who have filled another guitar position, which has been held by Parker Lundgren since 2009.

  1. My Name is Vito and I’m originally from Brooklyn New York.I now live in Ocala Florida..My family and I reside here in Ocala and yes ***my favorite rock band is the Scorpions, this band gives me a lot of high energy when I’m listening to them During the late 80’s especially..when I used to be a Gym goer I worked out to their music often….You guys are the best….God Bless, keep Rocking Vito????

  2. Even at my age, would’ve given anything to be part of this! I live on Gulf Coast, so Scorpions will always ‘Rock like a hurricane’!! Queensryce, roll me and make me feel like a ‘Jet City Woman’!! Thanks to both, the memories are priceless!

  3. I remember when the scorpions first toured the US in the late 70s and I have been lucky enough to have seen them 26 times and I am sorry to miss them this time because they are not coming to any place in the upper Midwest and I don’t understand why as every time they do they sellout where ever they play so hopefully they will read this and set up a time to comeback and play for some of their greatest fans ever in Chicago or Milwaukee Wisconsin as I live in central Wisconsin and will travel to see them in Chicago or Minneapolis to see them with a bunch of my friends that are also great fans of the scorpions but we can’t travel a 1000 miles to see them and Chicago or Minneapolis are about 300 miles one way but would still drive it to see them as they are the greatest rock band of all time and after 50+ years they are still around not many bands can say or do this for so long and to have so many great songs all I can say is just keep doing what you do best and that is rocking the world with your music and go for 60+ years as there is no one like you!!!!!!!!

  4. Just wondering why these crazy Germans always do Florida shows at peak hurricane season. Haha, looking forward to getting stung in Hollywood, FL next Wednesday!
