All are invited to attend three days and nights of free film showings at the seventh annual Carson City International Film Festival, which runs Thursday through Saturday.

Sponsored by Friends of the Carson City Library, Carson City Culture & Tourism Authority and Bob Boldrick Theater, several independent international films will be shown. The festival consists of free afternoon and evening film viewings followed by informal discussions. Showings are from 3 to 5 p.m. and evening showings begin at 6 p.m.

Tickets are not needed, and everyone is invited. The Bob Boldrick Theater is located at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William Street, Carson City.

Afternoon showings will spotlight the independently made films selected by the International Film Weekend Committee, while evening viewings will consist of award-winning, commercially-produced international films including Babette’s Feast and Mar Adentro “The Sea Inside.”

The competition-winning films are produced by students or independent filmmakers in the United States or abroad. Selection criteria includes awareness, diversity, understanding and craft.
