Lutan Fyah & The Riddim Rebels from Jamaica headline Live at Lakeview today.

Today is your chance to soak up some positive vibrations, from near and far, at the penultimate Live at Lakeview 2017 concert on the South Shore beach.

Headliners for the free show at Lakeview Commons are Lutan Fyah & The Riddim Rebels from Jamaica, backed by Rocker-T of Brooklyn, New York, and the homegrown VTA. Expect an evening of uplifiting reggae and feel-good music, starting at 4:30 p.m.

“After the original reggae headliners for (today’s concert) had to cancel their performance, On Course Events reached out the Cody Bass at the Tahoe Wellness Cooperative to team up and find a replacement,” organizer Leslie Schultz explained.

“Cody went above and beyond our request, bringing in some incredible, authentic reggae music for our community. Flying in straight from Europe and Jamaica, Lutan Fyah & The Riddim Rebels will put on one of the biggest shows Live at Lakeview has ever had. Rocker-T, a headliner from a couple years back, is also jumping in for an hour long set.”

Lutan Fyah and crew have been spreading a message of peace, love and unity across the globe. The bandleader was born Anthony Martin in Spanish Town, St. Catherine Parish, Jamaica. Exposed to music at a young age and encouraged by his grandfather, Tamba, he started his performing career in 1999.

He continues to headline shows in more than 30 countries around the world and performs on stages of some of the biggest festivals across the globe. Lutan has amassed a catalogue of music – having recorded some 200 singles and has released more than a dozen albums. He has also collaborated with renown artists that include Rebelution, Chronixx, Pressure, Midnight, Luciano, Anthony B, and Lady G. His live performances are filled with positive energy and hypnotic vibes.

Rocker-T released his latest album, “Return of the Tru Ganjaman” last summer. The recording spans a number of genres while staying rooted in the conscious dancehall reggae that Rocker-T delivers.

VTA is acoustic guitarist Vincenzo Thomas Amato and saxophonist Seth Hall, a duo that opened for South Shore’s Lavish Green since 2005. The Live at Lakeview show might include surprise guests. “We will play originals and covers and feel-good music,” Amato told Tahoe Onstage.

In February, Amato moved back to his hometown Reno after nearly four years in Los Angeles, where he had a club called the Salvage Bar. Amato played Thursdays at the Salvage with the band Acoustic As Folk, which included Pink Floyd saxophonist Scott Page VIDEO, Slightly Stoopid trumpeter C-Money and Beastie Boys percussionist Alfredo Ortiz. Amato formerly had a band called Super J, which toured with Fishbone and Sublime. And he is the person who put Lavish Green trumpeter Chris Sanchez onstage with Fishbone for a recent benefit concert in Hawaii.

VTA opens the concert from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., followed by Rocker-T from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Lutan Fyah & The Riddim Rebels from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m.
