Big Head Todd and the Monsters

[foogallery id=”40534″] Kurt Johnson’s photographer’s notebook: Big Head Todd and the Monsters put on a big show at the Crystal Bay Casino Saturday Jan. 18, 2015. It was sold out. Many diehard BHTM fans came all the way from Colorado, the band’s hometown, just to see them play, and they weren’t disappointed! The band performed two sets with an intermission. They sounded great with their own style of rockin’ blues, and the energy was high right from the first song and continued that way throughout the whole concert. Todd stated that he loves playing Tahoe and always has the best time playing at Crystal Bay Casino. He reminisced about a time the band was stranded in a major snow storm on their way to the Crystal Bay Casino and had to be towed all the way down the slippery pass! At on point in the second set, the keyboard player started playing the intro to Journey’s “Small Town Girl.” It did get the audience going, encouraging him to continue, but it was just for fun and they continued on with their set. Unfortunately, much to my disappointment, they did not play “Please Don’t Tell Her.” Here are the set lists. SET ONE: 1 Monument in Green 2 Rocksteady 3 Vincent Of Jersey 4 Leaving Song 5 Poor Miss 6 Josefina 7 I get smooth 8 imaginary Ships 9 Dirty Juice 10 heart Of Wilderness 11 Black Bee Hive 12 Fortune Teller SET TWO 1 New world Arisin 2 Secret Mission 3 Circle 4 It’s Alright 5 Hey Delilah 6 Bittersweet 7 Seven State Lines 8 Under A Silvermoon 9 Spanish Highway 10 Ellis Island 11 Conquistador 12 Boom Booms 13 Brokenhearted Savior 14 We Won’t Go Back 15 Water Colored Rainbow 16 Build My Own House 17 Cashbox 18 Everything About You
