Singer Elle King brings her ‘Ex’s and Oh’s’ to Lake Tahoe

Elle King will perform at Lake Tahoe on Friday, July 17.

Elle King likes Harleys and tattoos, banjos and hobos — and chances are she will love Lake Tahoe.

Today, Devildog Productions announced that King will perform Friday, July 17, at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa. Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 21.

This summer, King will play with Chris Stapleton’s All-American Roadshow. But before that, she will headline in MontBleu’s showroom.

Perhaps her bes- known song is the radio hit “Ex’s and Oh’s” from her 2015 debut studio album “Love Stuff.” She sings, “One, two, three, they gonna run back to me / ‘Cause I’m the best baby that they never gotta keep…”

“Ex’s & Oh’s” reached No. 1 of the Alternative Songs chart in September 2015, becoming only the second song by a solo female to reach the top since 1996 — after Lorde’s “Royals” in 2013. It was also a Top 10 tune on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and earned her two Grammy nominations. In 2012, King released an EP that included “Playing for Keeps,” which became the theme song for VH1’s Mob Wives Chicago series.

Her latest work is “Shake the Spirit,” an album released in 2018.

King, 30, is the daughter of actor/comedian Rob Schneider and model/actress London King. She calls New York and Los Angeles home and reps RCA Records. At age 13, she made her film debut aside her father in “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.” But her roots have always been in music.

Her bio notes: “She fell in love with rock and roll at age 9 when her stepfather gave her an album by all-girl garage rock outfit The Donnas. She spent her teen years living in New York learning to play guitar and banjo, attending rock camp, and eventually busking and gigging around the city.”

The bio aptly describes her as a bluesy bombshell: “Elle King has made a name for herself with her soulful, country-tinged take on classic rock and roll. Her powerful voice and playful songs have made fans of everyone from Oprah to Jimmy Fallon, and it’s easy to see why as she commands the stage at her rollicking live shows.

“Stylishly dressed like a modern-day pin-up girl, King strums her guitar and belts out her clever lyrics with equal parts heartfelt sincerity and punk attitude. Whether she’s tearing through barnburners like ‘Ex’s & Oh’s’ or performing her encore-worthy cover of Tom Petty’s ‘American Girl,’ King is a powerhouse live performer…”
