Charlie Daniels, Tanya Tucker head to Carson Valley Inn

Tanya Tucker is coming to the Carson Valley Inn this summer.

The devil may have gone down to Georgia, but the Charlie Daniels Band is coming to Carson Valley Inn next summer. And so is Tanya Tucker.

“CVI is proud to announce the first two concerts of our 2020 Summer Concert Series: CMT Next Women of Country presents Tanya Tucker and special guest Aubrie Sellers on Saturday, June 6, and Charlie Daniels Band on Friday, June 26,”  the Minden, Nevada, casino tweeted on Tuesday.

The country music icons will play in Carson Valley Inn’s outdoor venue, TJ’s Corral. Details of the shows will be announced Wednesday. Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 13.

At the age of 13, the original female country outlaw — Tanya Tucker — was the youngest female to grace the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine with the message, “You’re Gonna Hear From Me.” Dubbed as the female Elvis, she achieved mainstream chart topping success with 15 No. 1 hits including “Delta Dawn,” 41 Top 10 hits, and 23 Top 40 albums. Nominated nine times for a Grammy, this CMA and ACM winning artist was awarded the 2016 ACM Pioneer Award for her more than 50 years of success in her longstanding musical career.

Seventeen years after the release of her last record, the 61-year-old living legend in August released a tell-all record,  “While I’m Livin’,” full of wisdom, wit and heart, produced by three-time Grammy award winning artist Brandi Carlile and Shooter Jennings, alongside the full length documentary “Delta Dawn, Then and Now: The Return of Tanya Tucker.”

Charlie Daniels, 83, has been performing since the 1950s. He was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008, the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2009 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016. In his long career, Daniels has scored hits on the rock, country, pop and Christian charts. Perhaps his best known song is the No. 1 country hit “The Devil went Down to Georgia.”

The Charlie Daniels Band is celebrating 45 years since the November 1974 release of “Fire On The Mountain.”

Daniels also co-founded The Journey Home Project, which helps returning military heroes adjust back to civilian life. You can check it out here: http://www.thejourneyhomeproject.org

This June, outlaw country will be making its mark in TJ’s Corral at the Carson Valley Inn.
