Mescalito, Metalachi, Achilles Wheel and Golden Cadillacs are among the bands slated to rock South Lake Tahoe’s Heavenly Village this summer.

“We’re bringing the heat this year,” said Dreu Murin, who produces and emcees the shows.

The free music is performed from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekends. There will be 38 performances held between the Fire and Ice and Gunbarrel Tavern restaurants from 5:45 p.m. to 9:15. Most of the shows will be on Friday and Saturdays, along with concerts the first nine days of July.

“Our patrons deserve it after the last couple of years,” said Gary Casteel, the president of Shops at Heavenly Village. “The energy of live music in the village under the gondola with Heavenly in the background is truly special.”

The Heavenly Village mood is ebullient during the weekend shows.

  1. Hello- So glad to hear about the music festivities this year. I’m a 33 year local of South Lake myself. And I’m excited. There’s not a whole lot of affordable activities in this town. And as far as I can remember, never really have been. This is something myself and I’m sure many others (locals and tourists alike) can really appreciate and enjoy. However, unless I’ve overlooked it- I don’t see the diversity of genre as there could be. Rock and country; all these genres are great no doubt. But hip-hop is also an amazing genre. Just as much as the others. And we have soooo many extremely talented LOCAL hip hop artists. Many whom are South Lake Tahoe born and raised. Myself with many others do agree. That what would make this events calendar even more spectacular and; draw an even larger crowd of supporters is to add a little hip hop on the spot. Lol. So what do you say? Can we get some of them out on these stages? Let their community listen and appreciate their amazing hard work and creations too? I know that they love to entertain this community just as much as the other artists and musicians that are on calendar. These hip hop artists have suffered with us all. The same as you and me during these past 2 years during the COVID-19 pandemic. They deserve to be a part of the show, just as much as any of us. So if you can find a few slots in this calendar to fill, HIP HOP would be our request and suggestion. Trust me. We are not the only HIP HOP fan at South Lake Tahoe
