The Crown Room is now open for business late night, any night. Additional subs and lighting enhance the already famous sound and shows will no longer be forced to stop at 12:30 a.m.
Mochipet
Born in Taiwan to a rocket scientist father and kindergarten teacher mother, David Y Wang aka Mochipet’s music has traveled the globe from Europe to Asia and everything in between. With many overseas and U.S. tours his music has been featured in Videos Games with the Beastie Boys as well as performed by a 20-piece orchestra at New York’s Carnegie Hall. David sees no boundaries in music, which is why he has worked with everyone from Professional Skateboarder Ray Barbee, to Techno Queen Ellen Allien, Jazz drummer Weasel Walter, of the Flying Luttenbachers and Mashup DJ Z-Trip. Recently you may have heard his songs dropped by DJs such as Bassnectar. He just finished a tour with Sound Tribe Sector 9.
Night Riderz
With the release of the EP Fall in “Love, Knight Riderz” is definitely an artist to keep an eye out for. The producer from Edmonton, Canada has come a long way from his early days of making music in the mid-2000s when he started playing around with Acid Pro and Reason. Although he didn’t really know what he was doing, he found enjoyment in the hobby and wanted to pursue it.
After switching over from Reason to Ableton a few years later, the Canadian producer began to take production more seriously. Knight Riderz, who grew up listening to hip-hop, found his start producing drum and bass music.
“I liked drum and bass because it was like fast hip-hop to me, especially when there was an MC over top,” Knight Riderz said.
The biggest standout inspiration for Knight Riderz was the Glitch Mob, the Los Angeles-based electronic music trio — “When the Glitch Mob first came through, it was everything I loved about my newly found obsession for electronic dance music, and the music I grew up listening to.”
