Purple Party shakes up Tahoe Biltmore

The resonance of the first Purple Party was so great it has become an annual event.

The second annual Purple Party will be headlined by the Lafa Taylor Live Band on Friday, April 4 in the Tahoe Biltmore in Crystal Bay.

Lafa Taylor drops into Lake Tahoe Friday with the “Turnt Up Tour.”

“Come dressed in your finest purple attire and get ready to get ‘Tturnt Up,’ ” organizer and artist Zebuel Early wrote in a press statement.

The Lafa Taylor Live Band and Nico Luminous are on the “Turnt Up Tour.” Also on the bill are ZEBUEL vs. Auxilliary and Bass-mentality. Concertgoers must be at least 21 years old. Advance tickets are $15 or they can be purchased at the door for $20.

Lafa Taylor, press materials say, has been redefining his sound and making noise in the West Coast bass music scene since 2003. He has made waves in the U.S., Central America and Japan as a solo artist and in the live electronic duo with Russ Liquid known as BounceBrigade. His most recent release “Mixed Emotions” http://lafataylor.bandcamp.com/album/mixed-emotions-ep .

On the “Turnt Up Tour,” he is accompanied by a full band with backup singers and a live drummer. Lafa’s show blurs the lines between live hip-hop and R&B and raw bass music.

Nico Luminous  has created a voice all his own in the West Coast EDM scene and beyond as a ground breaking music producer and vocalist. His intelligently sampled melodies and thumpy bass lines capture dance floors in a sensual pulse that is simultaneously high energy and laid back.
As a singer, rapper, and beatboxer, Luminous always heightens energy with stylish flow of conscious rap and party lyrics.
“808’s & Earthquakes,” his single from last year, has become an anthem for West Coast bass heads.

Bass heavy artists ZEBUEL and Auxilliary joining forces for a special verses set. The evening will be kicked off by Bass-mentality and will have lights & lasers by Tahoe Lighting as well as sound by Reno Pro Audio.
