Colin Patrick Harper is still talkin’ about the buddz.

The artist who goes by the name Collie Buddz will float some island reggae Thursday night with HIRIE at Cargo at the Whitney Peak Hotel in downtown Reno. The standing-room show starts at 8 p.m., with tickets costing $20 to $25, for fans 18 and older.

The show comes during the closing days of the “Blue Dreamz” tour, which opened last month in Irvine, California. Born in New Orleans and raised in Bermuda, Buddz, 31, released the seven-song “Blue Dreamz” EP in September.

In 2013, Buddz was a featured act on the Good Vibes tour, which touched down at the first Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival at MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa. Rebelution and Matisyahu headlined that tour. Buddz perhaps is best known for his 2006 single, “Come Around.” It served as a precursor for his sweet smell of success that followed.

A just the sweet sweet sensi/ Ya know/ Yeh I, Yeh I/ Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Now/ Finally the herbs come around/ The high grade when me look for/ Me get it by the pound/ … Me take a little draw and pass it around…

The “Blue Dream” EP has been described as vintage Collie. Both the title track and “Prescription” puff out heavy doses of Buddz.

Last night I had a dream that/ I’m sitting on a hundred pound weed stack/ Floatin’ on it like a real boss/ Nuh bodda touch it when yuh come across…

Buddz plays the weed card in “Prescription,” noting the therapeutic qualities.

High grade weh mi smoking/ When it come to ganja ah no joke ting nah/ Peer high grade I’m smoking/ I just want to walk into a dispensary/ To get my medicine/ I ready pick it up at d pharmacy…

HIRIE, who hails from Kaneohe, Hawaii, caught fire on the reggae scene in 2013 with her single “Sensi Boy.” She recently released a new single, “I Wanna Be,” which expands her music into another horizon.

I wanna be your everything and more…/ Tell me if it’s wrong, tell me if it’s right/ Tell me how the butterflies crawl when we kiss good night/ And you can tell me how it feels to hold my hand/ Cuz I won’t be giving you no one night stand/ Ask me about it and I’ll be about you/ I find you charming and I know that you’re top shelf/ I say the same about myself
