A fundraiser to benefit displaced children of Ukraine will occur on Saturday, June 18 in June Lake. The band was assembled especially for the special concert and consist of veteran musicians who have performed alongside Linda Ronstadt, Diana Ross, Emmylou Harris, Tom Petty and John Denver.
The benefactor will be UNICEF’s Ukraine-specific initiative, which was established to assist the war-torn nation’s refugee children.
“We performed a similar benefit concert back in March and raised over $20,000.” said Jordan Sollitto, the band’s guitarist and lead singer “The folks who attended were eager to do something meaningful to help the Ukrainians, as were the musicians.”
“When Jordan approached me to see if we wanted to host the fundraiser,
I was both thrilled and honored. said Jamie Schectman, T-Bar Social Club owner. “As fate would have it, I had just been thinking how I could help make a positive difference in this ongoing horrific humanitarian crisis. We look forward to fun evening and raising some loot for these unfortunate innocent children”
There will also be a raffle with some great prizes including local prizes as well as collectibles from Warner Bros., Batman and DC comics. Besides ticket sales, a portion of the drink sales will be donated to the cause.
For those not able to attend in person, the show will be streamed live on T-Bar Social Club’s Facebook page, beginning at 8 p.m.
