There’s something about Zepparella that caught Robert Plant’s fancy. They could catch yours, too, Saturday night when the all-female Led Zeppelin tribute band performs at Crystal Bay Casino Lake Tahoe.

When asked about an unrelated band last year, former Zeppelin frontman Plant remarked to the Louisville Eccentric Observer “.. but what about Zepparella?”

He added: “Yes, Louisville, stay tuned to Zepparella, I mean, if I could see (them) playing again, my God, what a frontwoman.”

That would Zepparella vocalist Anna Kristinia (“Robert Plant”), who is joined by the group’s founder and drummer Clementine (“John Bonham”), guitarist Gretchen Menn (“Jimmy Page”) and bassist Holly West (“John Paul Jones”).

These ladies from San Francisco have Zeppelin down. A YouTube video of “When the Levee Breaks” has more than 6 million views. And that’s a cover of Led Zeppelin’s cover.

Tickets to the show at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 6, are $17 in advance or $22 on day of show. Tickets can be purchased at the Crystal Bay Club cashier cage or online:

In a free Red Room after-party, Metal Echo will carry on with an energetic heavy metal performance into the wee hours of Sunday morning. Guests for both shows must be 21 or over.

About Randy Hashagen
