The Who announce summer invasion of Las Vegas

The Who flier Las Vegas Here’s a Brexit everyone can support. The Who is coming to America, Las Vegas to be exact. In what is called an exclusive Las Vegas residency, the legendary British rock band will perform six shows – July 29, Aug. 1, 4, 7, and 11 – at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Tickets, which will range from $500 to $75, go on sale to the general public at noon Friday, March 17. Fan club sales began Tuesday. The announcement came Monday on The Who’s website, which posted, “Fans can expect the band to take them on an Amazing Journey through their entire career with songs from classic albums such as ‘Who’s Next,’ ‘Tommy,’ ‘Quadrophenia,’ ‘My Generation’ to the present day.” The residency is presented jointly by Caesars Entertainment and AEG Presents. A second residency is in the works. Tickets for the general public may be purchased in person at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Box Office, by calling 866-320-9763 or online at thecolosseum.com or axs.com. In its 1965 song, “My Generation,” The Who famously sang, “Hope I die before I get old.” But it’s too late for that now for founding members Pete Townshend, 71, and Roger Daltrey, 73. In a December interview with Rolling Stone, Townsend said he enjoys playing for a new generation. “It’s much nicer to play our music to younger audiences, who really haven’t grown up with it,” Townshend said. “That’s what struck me about the last five weeks of the tour; we were playing to a much larger number of younger people. I just feel, like, ‘Wow. I’m alive to see a new generation of people really get this stuff.’ It’s just a real kick.”
