Pigeon John flies to Tahoe Firday for a show at MontBleu with Gift of Gab.

The time has come. The Gift of Gab and Pigeon John will perform at 10 p.m. June 14 in the BLU nightclub, a MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa.

Both hip-hop solo artists with Quannum Projects possess fast, clever and humorous lyrics about pop culture and contemporary issues.

A Bay Area native who has recorded since 1999, The Gift of Gab was in the duo Blackalicious with DJ Chief Xcel. He has collaborated with Del the Funky Homosapien, Brother Ali, Chali 2na, Cut Chemist and DJ Vadim.

Pigeon John, named after a religious experience he said he had with a bird, is from Los Angeles. He has three solo albums and has four solo albums and was with L.A. Symphony and Brainwash Projects.

Advance tickets are available at MontBleu, Beach Hut Deli and Mad About Music in South Lake Tahoe, New Moon Natural Foods in Tahoe City  and Truckee, Recycled Records in Reno and online at Doors open at 10 p.m. and tickets will be $20 at the door.

Concertgoers must be 21.
